As an agricultural economics institute IAMO is focusing on basic and applied research and employs about 115 staff members.
Exemplary establishment, transfer of experience in agriculture in Saxony-Anhalt, project coordination
The ZSH, an associated institute at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg founded in 1995, focuses on basic as well as applied research in the fields of labour market structures and employment patterns, personnel policy, vocational training and individual entrances to work and employment. Of particular importance is the development of East Germany, taking the demographic turbulences into account. A team of about 20 social scientists works on varying projects, whose results have influence on scientific discussions and allows the knowledge transfer for companies and politics.
